Mr. Bill Gilkes - A Lifetime of Service
We recently presented Mr. Bill Gilkes with a Community Kind Key! 🗝 He was nominated by his son, Keith, who said: "Retired marine and recipient of the Purple Heart, father of 3 boys, married 50 years to my angelic mother. He has been raising money since I was in high school…let’s say 30 years of fundraising for tons of different causes, from our high school football team, to families of people who have passed, to wounded police officers and military vets.⠀
This golf tournament specifically supports wounded veterans and provides equipment specifically designed for Vets with prosthetics and physical limitation as well as honoring fallen Veterans. He has been the tournament director for the past 10 years."⠀
Not only have you lived a life of service, but you have left an imprint in many hearts and what a beautiful legacy for your family.⠀

Nominated for their kindness and generosity in partnering with schools in the community and providing a safe and friendly place for those in our community to go.
This incredible young man was nominated, all the while being treated unkind himself. He decided he was going to show others what kindness really was. He notices what others don't. Like when a teacher isn't feeling well and gives them a note and a Kind Key and hopes they feel better. He helps out at the animal shelter and looks for other ways to volunteer! Keep on being Kind. Kindness matters!
