We’re moving, but we’re not going away!
For years, Keys to Kindness has inspired intentional acts of kindness, meaningful connections, and had a positive impact on the Tampa Bay Community. Today, we’re excited to share that the mission of Keys to Kindness will continue under the banner of the Hessel Foundation.
While the Keys to Kindness name is being retired, the heart behind it remains stronger than ever. Our mission remains focused on compassion, service, and community. Through the Hessel Foundation, we will continue and expand the programs that have touched so many lives, including Kind Camp, the Community Kind Key Program, and our Kind Campus Initiatives.
Together, we're building a foundation of kindness while creating even greater opportunities for children, families, veterans, first responders, and individuals with special needs and neurodiverse abilities. Our name may be changing, but the mission lives on.
What Keys to Kindness Does…
Since 2015, we have strived to inspire, educate, and empower individuals to weave kindness into the fabric of everyday life and community interactions. Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities that foster intentional acts of kindness, with a particular focus on children and individuals with special needs. Whether that special need is a foster child, children that are battling cancer on the spectrum, autoimmune diseases, or personal, emotional, or family challenges. We aim to bridge the community with pathways to serve others, believing wholeheartedly in the transformative power of kindness to cultivate a sense of purpose and connection in everyone. Everyone has a story and a purpose, and we hope to help people find their why behind giving back to the community. Through our initiatives, we strive to empower a new generation of compassionate individuals who value kindness as a cornerstone of their interactions with others. INSPIRE
…individuals to spread kindness by uniting people to back community causes and motivating others to follow suit. We believe that when you share kindness, you receive an unexpected gift in return.
EDUCATE
...our youth through transformative internships, impactful volunteer opportunities, and our annual summer Kind Camp, which equips them with essential tools to understand the profound impact of kindness.
EMPOWER
…others by providing opportunities for graduating high school volunteers to receive scholarships for college or trade schools and encouraging and inspiring individuals empowers them to make a difference.
