WHAT IS KIND CAMP?
Kind Camp is a one-stop summer camp that has a little bit of everything to make summer days fun and kindness-filled for both boys and girls! Camp is held Monday through Friday. All-Day Camp is available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for $150.00, or Half-Day Camp is 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 for $75.00.
Kind Camp is our primary method for promoting kindness, inclusivity, and personal growth among children. We achieve this through our unique approach, which includes an electronic-free zone and a structured curriculum designed to teach fundamental life skills and the importance of character-building. This enriching camp experience encourages children to explore and express kindness in a supportive environment. Our activities are designed for fun, personal growth, and empowerment. Through immersive activities, our Big Buddy program, and a supportive environment, we foster connections that help our campers and volunteers recognize their unique strengths and the positive difference they can make in the world through kindness and community.
In addition to supporting our campers, we recognize the invaluable contributions of high school and college students and teachers who volunteer with us. To honor their dedication and commitment, we provide scholarships to support their educational pursuits. By investing in both campers and volunteers, we foster a community built on kindness, support, and the shared goal of making a positive impact. Through these initiatives, we hope to empower individuals and create a ripple effect of kindness that extends beyond Kind Camp.
In this nurturing environment, each Little Buddy (camper) is paired with a Big Buddy—a high school or college student. This pairing not only enhances the experience for the younger campers but also provides invaluable mentorship opportunities for the older teens. Through these enriching interactions, both campers and mentors emerge with a deeper understanding of empathy, support, and community impact, making Kind Camp a transformative experience for everyone involved. At Kind Camp, we believe every child deserves the chance to experience the joy of connection and growth, regardless of their financial situation. That’s why we offer scholarships for campers, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent participation.
Each year, we sponsor almost half of our campers. We believe every child should have the opportunity to discover their purpose and know they have the power to make a difference. We are so grateful for all our Big and Little Buddies and their families who have been able to attend Kind Camp and are excited to see so many return every year.
OUR GOAL
To teach the importance of kindness to our community’s youth and share intentional acts of kindness in a fun-filled environment! By inspiring kids to step outside their comfort zone, they discover how to make a positive impact on others!
HOW DO WE ACCOMPLISH THIS?
Through our Big Buddy Program, which partners our High School volunteers with a camper who becomes their “Little Buddy” for the week, allowing them to foster a positive mentor-mentee relationship. Our Middle School volunteers are “Big Buddies in Training” and get to learn from their Big Buddy.
By creating an uplifting and encouraging environment for our campers to discover how they can make a positive difference in the lives of others.
By maintaining an ELECTRONIC FREE ZONE so that our Big Buddies can fully engage with their Little Buddies. Cell phones are collected at the beginning of Kind Camp and returned at the end of the day.
By teaching daily lessons on character building and providing opportunities to give back to the community, such as crafts to donate to organizations that support a variety of our kind causes.
